Description

A trekking shoe that can also be used in more demanding terrain with a heavier backpack. Despite its robust construction, it offers its owner extreme comfort even on challenging and long hikes. The upper is made of high-quality brushed leather, with toe and side protection against scuffing and scratches.

The new sole from the renowned Vibram manufacturer is torsionally stiffer, yet still very comfortable. The improved Support System ensures ankle support and foot fixation in the shoe. The premium Sympatex membrane provides effective protection against water penetration.

Membrane: Sympatex

Sympatex is a non-porous film made of a copolymer consisting of 70% polyester (hydrophobic part) and 30% hydrophilic polyethylene, which is very thin (about 5 μm thick) and can be expanded up to three times the surface area. Waterproofing is guaranteed with up to 25,000 mm of water column; water vapour permeability and breathability (from the inside to the outside of the film) is referred to as “extremely breathable” and wind impermeability as “100%”. The permeability of human sweat is guaranteed only up to a certain maximum ambient air temperature (about 15°C). All positive properties can be maintained even with long-term use, because no pores in the membrane can be clogged. The membrane is as environmentally friendly as possible – 100% recyclable, hydrofluorocarbon-free, PTFE-free and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The membrane is laminated to the lining, which is placed inside the footwear.

Upper: Velour

The leather is ground on the reverse and has a short hair on the surface. It is popularly known as suede. Velour is less prone to superficial damage than nubuck.
A special type of leather with a velour-like appearance is called split leather. It is made of a lower layer of leather, usually treated by sanding. Compared to top-grain leathers, it is cheaper but less strong and durable.
