Description

The Trekker Lite model has been on the market for over 13 years, but that doesn't mean its continuous development has rested on its laurels. New design, new rand around the shoe, or new eyelets – this is just a small selection of what AKU has improved in the third generation of this model.

The upper is made of suede leather, which is 1.8 mm thick, in combination with AIR 8000 textile (AKU's own technology guaranteeing up to 11 times better breathability compared to commonly used materials). Thanks to this combination, the shoe is exceptionally breathable yet durable. The lining is provided by a waterproof Gore-Tex Performance Comfort membrane, so you don't have to worry about walking through streams or melting snow in these shoes. The dual-density EVA midsole combined with IMS1 cushioning ensures comfort with every step, giving you confidence even on more challenging terrain. Comfort and safety are also complemented by a new suede rand around the entire shoe. The toe is reinforced with hard rubber to protect against scuffs from stones or tree roots. A firm grip is ensured by the VIBRAM Curcuma outsole, which is exclusive to AKU.

With its 570 grams, the Trekker Lite III GTX is an exceptionally lightweight trekking shoe that offers its owners excellent foot protection, a firm and stable stride, excellent breathability for mountain hiking even in tropical temperatures, and long durability. This is also evidenced by the traceable origin of all materials used in the production of this shoe.

AIR8000® PATENT fa AKU
is a fabric used in cordless shoes as an outer material that guarantees maximum evaporation of sweat from the skin. Permeates 8,021 g of water vapour in 24 hours. Unlike the 700 g for regular fabrics, it removes 11.5x more moisture than regular fabric. The degree of breathability is very important for the health and well-being of the foot; there is no infection by mycosis, inflammation, or painful sores.

Midsole: Dual density EVA

A material with a porous structure characterised by very low weight and excellent damping properties.

Sole: VIBRAM Curcuma

The manufacturer and brand of the most widely used rubber compound for the production of soles for various types of shoes. It provides high walking comfort on difficult terrain, superior mechanical durability and reliability, shock absorption thanks to its unique design, and a sophisticated system of protrusions and shapes to prevent the shoe from slipping.
