Just like protection against scuffing, there is a robust rubber rand around the entire shoe, protecting you in rocky terrain. Thanks to the VIBRAM Foura sole and the use of EVA foam in combination with a 4-6 mm nylon shank in the midsole, the Conero offers excellent traction and protection, as well as stability in very rugged terrain due to excellent ankle support. The use of an anatomically shaped footbed also testifies to the attention to detail.
